Global Warming is the belief that the Earth's temperature is rising due to our production, as humans, of CO2. We've been told that the earth is changing because of humans. We've been told that we produce soo much CO2 that we are killing are planet. We've been told that we are causing the hurricanes to grow in numbers and strength. We've been told that we are causing the oceans to rise......We've been told wrong.
The Earth has been seeing significant rises and falls in both temperature and CO2 levels since the dawn of time. We have had a warming like this before. It was called the Medieval Climate Optimum. It's true, look it up. It was not catastrophic at all, nor did life on earth cease to exist. Then, it was considered an Optimum, now it is a crisis?
There are ice ages and there are warming periods. We know this as evidence by ice cores and tree ring samples. This isn't breaking news, except maybe the deception that you are being force fed. I think it is pure arrogance to think that we have control over the climate. Especially on this kind of scale. Alarming the public is easy.
Do you really think that going out and buying a fuel efficient Honda will actually reduce our CO2 levels? That minute of a difference won't do any thing. The scientists can't even prove that CO2 is the so called "problem." Besides, do you know how many active volcanoes there are on this planet? These volcanoes spew billions of tons of CO2 every year. We can't hold a candle to that.
Another factor is THE SUN! Have you heard of it before. The sun warms the earth. If you check solar output against global temperature measurements you will see that they follow the same path. The sun heats us, and when it is hotter we get hotter. It you are so hell bent that global warming is anthropogenic (for those who don't know, it means "man made"), explain why Mars is also warming at the same pace as us. As we increase, so does Mars.
Oh my god!! We're sooo evil that we are even destroying other planets. Our gas guzzling SUV's will stop at nothing! Your sources are a bit out of kilter. Lets say you are a climate researcher and you can't find a crisis. Where will you get your grants from. Helps answer some questions, doesn't it.
I am tired of hearing that every scientist in the world is on board with "Global Warming." It's really not true. There is a thing out there called the Petition Project. It is for scientist who are not swayed by our government grants. They stand up for the true that the human production of CO2 is not the cause of the rise in temperature. It is about 20,000 signatures strong.
When they show a chart trying to make you believe in "Global Warming" they show the past 100 years. Maybe the past 150 years. What they don't want you to see is the last 1000, 100,000, or even the last 1,000,000 years. What it shows is that are planet goes through phases. There are ice ages and there are warming OPTIMUMS. We, right now, are in a warming OPTIMUM.
I am ashamed to live in a planet that got sucked into this eco-religious hype. Who was that one guy who made a movie "proving" "Global Warming?" Oh yah, it was Al Gore. He won a Noble Peace Prize for that one. Is he a scientist? NO! That’s right he is part of our ever-truthful government.
Believe it or not, global warming is not due to human contribution of CO2. This could be the greatest deception in the history of science. We are wasting time and money creating unnecessary fear. Do you enjoy your cars, and electricity? Well, if these eco-religious people keep up we will be reduced to nothing. Just another third world country.
Professor Philip Scott, of the University of London, had this to say. "What we have fundamentally forgotten is the simple primary school science. Climate always changes. It is always warming or cooling, never stable. And if it were stable, it would actually be interesting scientifically because it would be the first time for four and a half billion years. So there is no proof that humans are causing this."
Global Warming is for the most part natural. Blame the sun, blame the volcano, blame the ocean and the water vapor and the CO2 that gives life to plants. None of these doomsday scenarios will change the atmosphere a single degree. Or a good way to stop "Global Warming" is to cut all the hot air produced by these eco people, and the brainwashed stooges who follow them. I believe it was Adolph Hitler who said, "If you repeat a lie long enough, people will believe it."

By golly Watson, you've done it! Splendid post Dustin. I actually read yours from top to bottom. You have so much feeling into your post, I can feel the heat (of global warming?? hehe). It is true though, I remember watching the documentary and they only show a small time frame. It is sad that most of us are not thinking on the big picture. I suppose the general public is just like me, they want to be able to trust our accredited scietists without have to second guess them. They are the ones that have gone to school for their degree and are called experts, and it is sad to think that they may be leading us down the wrong pathway. I hear so many facts back and forth, but I'm leaning towards your way of thinking because of your writing. I wonder what the government has been up to with this scheme, what could they possibly need money for now?

You totally had a great attention getter and such a great ending sentence to that. your entire post had facts and believable information. i absolutley loved the truthful government part. it is so true. i honestly am not sure what to believe but i am leaning toward your views. Lastly, your ending sentence rocked. nice work.

The basic issue is “Is Greenhouse gases accumulating in Earth's atmosphere as a result of human activities, causing surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures to rise?” The answer is yes says the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It was created in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environmental Programme, IPCC's purpose is to evaluate the state of climate science as a basis for informed policy action, primarily on the basis of peer-reviewed and published scientific literature. Peer-reviewed literature in the only literature reviewed and approved by people in the same industry, i.e. other meteorological scientists. It’s the only literature used in scholarly research because it is backed up with empirical research.
Others agree too. The American Meteorological Society, the American Geophysical Union, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) all have issued statements in recent years concluding that the evidence for human modification of climate is compelling. The hypothesis was tested by analization using 928 abstracts, published in refereed scientific journals between 1993 and 2003, and listed in the ISI database with the keywords "climate change.”
The 928 papers were divided into six categories:
1)Explicit endorsement of the consensus position
2)Evaluation of impacts
3)Mitigation proposals
4)Methods
5)Paleoclimate analysis
6)Rejection of the consensus position
Of all the papers, 75% fell into the first three categories, either explicitly or implicitly accepting the consensus view; 25% dealt with methods or paleoclimate, taking no position on current anthropogenic climate change. Remarkably, none of the papers disagreed with the consensus position.
However, the scientific consensus might, of course, be wrong. If the history of science teaches anything, it is humility, and no one can be faulted for failing to act on what is not known. But our grandchildren will surely blame us if they find that we understood the reality of anthropogenic climate change and failed to do anything about it. Can you disagree with that?
When researching any topic, you must check “reliable” sources. Generally .gov and .edu are the two Internet suffixes you can beleive. The only true reliable source is a peer-reviewed one. Because of the internet, anyone can post anything, and make it sound credible. This is not always the case.
YES!!! global warming is 100% false. after reading this post i am right with you baby. i was a little scepticle at first, now i dont believe in it at all. i cant begin to typing out how much smarter you are than most of our "scientists" or "terrorists" because that's exactly what they're trying to do. bring terror to the public, not to mentioni just flat out lying to us all about global warming. this is by far the best post that you have ever done in your entire life!!! trust me, i would know.

Dustin, that was very interesting. You have really opened my eyes to another world in the problem of global warming. I had always just assumed that it was realy because I heard our teachers tell us it was. But you have shed some light on me. I was given all this information before that only showed some of the data, which was true. You have shown me the other side of the information that tells me that global warming does not exist and that we are just in a period of climate increase. Moving Dustin, truely moving.
