Galaxies are clusters of gas, dust, and stars. These are held together by gravitational force. Galaxies could contain anywhere from 100,000,000 to 3,000,000,000 stars each. Not sure about you but I can't even imagin that many stars. We happen to live in the Milky Way Galaxy which is a spiral galaxy. Our solar system is on one of the arms of the galaxy.
A solar system is a sun and the collection of celestial bodies that orbit it. Our solar system consists of the sun and nine planets. Or eight if you are the kind to not count Pluto. How can you not count Pluto? Mickey Mouse would not be happy with you. So there are billions of solar systems per galaxy and there are billions of galaxies in our universe.
To think that we are the only planet with living creatures is nuts. If you calculate all of the galaxies with all the solar systems with all the planets there has to be other life. I believe there is plenty of life in our galaxy alone. Not including the billions of other galaxies. Space is one of the most interesting subjects. Maybe one day we will confirm life out side our own planet. Possibily Optimus Prime, or Bumble Bee.

Nice Work! I liked the fun facts in yours. I agree with you. There has to be tons of life in the universe and in our own galaxy. There are too many places in the universe for there not to be life.

I really liked your personal comments at the end. Jodie Foster has the best line in the movie Contact when she says something very similar. With the universe being so expansive, how can we even guess? There could be life out there that's a lot smarter than us. Pretty shallow if people think otherwise.
