The Big Bang Theory is our current belief in how our universe began. Our universe all began in a state of "singularity." "Singularity" is a state which defies our understanding of physics. It is where an infinite amount of matter is squished into infinite amount of density. These "singularity's" are also said to be at the center of black holes. Black holes are areas of intense gravitational pressure.
After being at the state of "singularity" our universe inflated. This is said to be the "Big Bang." It started being very, very small and very, very hot. Then expanded and cooled to how our universe is now. Even now it is still expanding and cooling. That is the Big Bang Theory.
There are misconceptions surrounding the Big Bang Theory. When you think of "Big Bang" you think of an explosion. It was no explosion at all. It started out very small and very dense and has expanded and is still expanding. Don't imagining a balloon exploding. Imagine a balloon expanding and still expanding.
I think it is true that there are mislead people. They think that it all started with a giant explosion. The "Big Bang" should be changed. It only puts the wrong idea into our heads. It should be called "The Great Expansion." Who ever came up with the first name is a moron!

Dustin,
I agree with what you said about the name. Why call it the Big Bang if there never was a "Bang". It's rediculous. They should change the name.
Billy
Nice posting! Very interesting facts. I also agree with your opinion on the name change.

Where does science vs. religion stand on this? You never mentioned that in your paragraphs. It was one of the required questions to answer.
nice dustin. lol yeah i didnt understand that either and agree on that its pretty lame they called it that, but otherwise nice facts and all that jazz.
peace

Where does science vs. religion stand on this? Come on Dustin. Leaving out facts is a big no no. But i still liked it. Great Post

Great job! I agree very much, the name is extremely misleading. People assume that it is a big bang, as the name reads. Instead, in reality, it was a slow expansion. Good opinions@!
Simply smashing love!
Fabulously yours,
Megan
